Farewell to the Skies: JetBlue Cancels All Flights Between US and Cuba

If Cuba is on your bucket list we have some news that might affect your future travel plans. JetBlue, the iconic US airline that made headlines with its historic commercial flight to Cuba in 2016, is saying goodbye to its Cuban routes. This marks a significant shift since it became the first U.S. airline to operate a commercial flight between the two countries in more than 50 years back in 2016.

The Sudden Departure

In a surprising move, JetBlue has decided to halt all its flights between the United States and Cuba, starting on September 17, 2023. This decision was allegedly due to changes in the regulatory landscape and restrictions on the ability of our customers to enter Cuba. It sure is a significant change considering JetBlue’s pivotal role in reconnecting the two nations after more than five decades of travel restrictions.

But What About My Flight?!

Don’t worry, if you were among the affected customers with an upcoming flight, JetBlue promises full refunds. There are other U.S. based airlines that offer flights to Cuba including American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines.

So, Should I NOT Visit Cuba?

Cuba is a one-of-a-kind destination, and my 2018 trip there remains on the top of my list as on of my favorite destinations.
